2025 2nd Semester Korean Language Course Completion Ceremony Held
The Korean Language Institute at Korea Maritime & Ocean University (Director Kim Jeong-hoon) held the 2025 2nd Semester Korean Language Course Completion Ceremony on the 18th at the seminar room in the College of Maritime Sciences.
The 2025 1st Semester Korean Language Course was conducted from March 2025, to May 2025, with 124 students from 14 countries including Vietnam, China, Sri Lanka participating.
At the ceremony, held in the seminar room of the College of Maritime Sciences, five students who excelled in their classes―including TADESSE SAMUEL SHIFERAW(Level 4, Ethiopia)―received certificates on behalf of their classmates.
Participants of the completion ceremony took commemorative photos. The event also featured a singing performance by two Sri Lankan students and a Myanmar student, K-POP dance performance by a Russian student, adding to the enjoyment. A commemorative video highlighting students’ participation in activities such as sports event was also screened, making the event more meaningful.
ERANDIKA ARACHCHIGE, a GKS(Government Scholarship Program) student from the Sri Lanka, shared her thoughts in Korea fluently: “My one year in Korea has passed so quickly. Thanks to my friends, Korean language teachers, and the staff at the International Exchange Office, I’ve created many happy memories. I studied Korean hard and successfully advanced to the undergraduate program. I’m glad to continue my studies here and experience university life as an international student.”
Director Kim Jeong-hoon of the Korean Language Education Center at KMOU said, “I congratulate the students for their hard work and achievements in Korean language studies and various activities over the past two and a half months for 2025 2nd semester.” He also said, “I hope that both the students who are moving on to new challenges and those who will continue their studies here will achieve even greater success based on the confidence and passion they have built at our Institute.”
