KMOU Signs with Vietnam Maritime University(VMU) on International Academic Exchange Agreement
KMOU has widened its doors to accommodate elite students from foreign countries.
KMOU President Park Han-il visited VMU on November 13th, signing the International Academic Exchange Agreement to bolster the cooperation-exchange relationship and win-win educational program of the two universities.
As the agreement goes into effect, KMOU will annually select 10 professors with a Master's Degree awarded by VMU, and support them acquire doctor’s degree at KMOU. KMOU also agreed to support the masterㆍdoctoral program for VMU graduates, and support selected VMU undergraduates with outstanding performance to study their majoring subject and Korean language at KMOU.
In October last year, the students of the KMOU College of Maritime Sciences visited Haiphong during their sea training course aboard the Training Ship Hanavada, and had a time to meet and exchange friendship with the students of VMU.
Based on the agreement, both universities are expecting to continue their win-win cooperative relationship, as KMOU plans to attract capable foreign students and invigorate exchange student programs, while VMU plans on improving the quality of its instructors.
"VMU is the only maritime university that specialises in training marine experts in Vietnam, and this agreement between KMOU and VMU will provide a secure basis on which we could invite foreign students to our university” said KMOU President Park. "We will continue to promote the training of capable maritime experts and strengthening the cooperation, through active exchange with other countries.”
