Center for International Affairs of Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) held an Open Day event for the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS), one of institutions which have an academic agreement with KMOU, on January 25 at the lobby of International Studies College. Held in 27 branches in 22 countries including England and Singapore at the same time, the event provided the detailed information on the Qualifying Examinations and various benefits from passing the exams. The faculty members including Lee Yun-cheol, Dean of Maritime Sciences College, students, and graduates participated in the event to share the information and have Q&A session on procedure and required subjects of the ICS Qualifying Examinations. Ryu Dong-geun, professor of the Division of Shipping Management, who is responsible for holding the event, said, “The ICS Open Day is a venue to promote the ICS education center as a Korea branch. Also, it can play as an opportunity for a networking among the ICS members in the world’s maritime and shipping field such as ship brokerage, ship management, shipping finance, maritime law and port management.”
