Korea Maritime and Ocean University (President: Park Han-il) concluded a Memorandum of Understanding on the mutual cooperation with World Maritime University (WMU) located in Malmö, Sweden on May 31.

The signing ceremony in Malmö had Park Han-il, President of KMOU, Cleopatra Doumbia-Henry, President of WMU, Kim Ki-tack, Secretary-General of International Maritime Organization, and related officials in attendance.

According to the MoU, the two universities would establish a close relationship in the maritime education field by promoting mutual exchanges among faculty members, personnel and students, encouraging mutual researches, holding conferences, and sharing academic information and data. 

Established in 1983 by the International Maritime University, WMU has operated master’s and doctorate courses to train and nurture maritime experts in the world.
