Mutual Exchange with WMU in Sweden and MSK‧AAMS in Denmark
Park Han-il, President of Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) is going to visit the World Maritime University (WMU) in Sweden and two sister universities in Denmark to discuss ways to promote academic exchanges and mutual cooperation. His trip to Europe is scheduled to start on May 28 and finish on June 3.
Among the official three schedules, President Park’s visit to WMU aims to boost exchange activities through an academic exchange agreement and develop a mutual training course in the maritime education field. In particular, he will participate in the WMU Board of Governors (BOG) meeting to deal with an issue related to locating the branch school of WMU in Busan.
The visit to WMU is following a visit to Copenhagen School of Marine Engineering and Technology Management (MSK) and Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering (AAMS)—KMOU’s sister universities—to discuss details for more academic exchange activities. The two institutions in Denmark are boasting their 100 years of tradition and nurturing talents in ocean engineering‧marine science and engineering. Starting from 2014 when the first exchange agreements were signed, KMOU and the two sister universities have continued to exchange about 10 students every year.
