President Cheng Yudong of Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU) and his delegation visited Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) on March 13 to promote mutual development and cooperation for international exchange.

During the visit, the two parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding for academic exchange. In addition, they, as members of Asia Maritime and Fisheries Universities Forum (AMFUF), discussed policies to contribute to taking the lead in the world’s ocean and fisheries education field came up with ideas for practical ways to promote CAMPUS Asia (Collective Action for Mobility Program of University Students in Asia) project, supported by Korea, China and Japan.

Park Han-il, president of KMOU said, “This visit of president of SHOU will be an opportunity to establish stronger network between the two.” He also mentioned, “I am expect students in the two universities will display their talents as leaders in the field who are equipped with global competitiveness under the educational cooperation program in the advanced ocean field.”
