Korea Maritime and Ocean University held a conference under the theme of “Marine Drone” at Convention Hall, BEXCO on January 20. The event was part of Marine Drone session in the 2017 Drone Show Korea, co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Busan Metropolitan City and organized by BEXCO.
The Show consisted of various innovative sessions related to military drone and technology, marine drone, identification and security of drone (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle: UAV), drone seizure, venture business and start-ups, contents (broadcasting, 3D Mapping). They aims to predict a change in the drone (UAV) industry during the 4th industrial revolution era with the convergence of drone and new technologies and boost communication and information-sharing.
During the Show, Sur Joo-no, Chief of Maritime Unmanned System Center, presided over the Marine Drone Conference co-organized by College of Engineering (Dean: Do Deok-hee), Research Institute of Industrial Technology (Chief: Shim Zun-hwan) and Korean Marine Robot Technology Society (President: Choi Hyeonk-sik). There, Prof. Choi (Major of Mechanical Systems Engineering) made a presentation under the theme of “Present and future state of underwater drone technology.”
