Leading University Cooperation (LINC) Center (Chief: Jo Hyo-je) co-held “2017 Global Marine Business Plaza in Singapore” on January 19 to help domestic marine equipment companies to enter into markets in Singapore and countries in the Southeast Asia, together with Korea Marine Equipment Association (KOMEA), Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX) and Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI).
The two-day event aims to find appropriate buyers in Singapore for Korean marine equipment suppliers and expand their overseas markets. In addition, for buyers who have wanted to meet with Korean suppliers, tailored-meetings were prepared, which can lead to more exports and revitalized local economy.
The business meeting had Keppel Corporation, one of the leading shipbuilding companies in Singapore, major shipbuilding companies around Tuas and large-sized agents for actual transactions in attendance. Their counterparts were 15 Korean marine equipment companies including B-I Industrial and Sunbo Industries. There, one-to-one meetings were held for them.
LINC Center is expected to establish a global network with Singapore for A/S and Sales to promote higher market access to Singapore. In addition, providing opportunities to have meetings with companies in Singapore can contribute to establishing partnership with overseas companies and increasing product competitiveness.
Jo Hyo-je, Chief of LINC Center said, “Cooperation and networking between Singapore which has a remarkable share in the global offshore renovation market and active Korean marine equipment companies with a lot of experiences can boost their own technology competitiveness.”
