President Han-il PARK participated in the AMFUF 2016(The 15th Asia Maritime and Fisheries Universities Forum), which was held at the National Taiwan Ocean University from October 13 to October 15, 2016.

In this year’s AMFUF, 11 member institutions from 8 countries joined including Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, Kobe University(from Japan), Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, Vietnam Maritime University(from Vietnam) and Far Eastern State Technical Fisheries University(from Russia).

President Han-il PARK commented from his opening address, “Oceans cover over 70% of the Earth, so we have to promote the fostering of the young generation who are specializing in the field of maritime and fisheries. To do so, we have to gather our wisdom beyond all boundaries especially through this forum.”

The AMFUF is the place for representatives of maritime education institutions to discuss maritime agenda, promote mutual cooperation and make efforts to nurture marine officers for better future of the maritime field. KMOU, as Chiar University, established the Secretariat Office in the campus on 2002.
