On July 18, 2016, KMOU granted an honorary doctorate degree to Mr. Jeffrey Mountevans, the Lord Mayor of the City of London.
At the conferment ceremony, Dr. Yun-Hae KIM(KMOU Acting President) commented, "Busan city is endeavoring to be a maritime & shipping finance center as well as an Asian financial representative city. Through the today's ceremony, I look forward to putting vital power into KMOU, Busan city and Korean economy growth."
Alderman Jeffrey Mountevans was elected the Lord Mayor of the City of London on September 29, 2015 and took office as the 688th Lord Mayor on November 13, 2015.
